Dear Prospective Student and Visitor
Thank you for your interest in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program at Coahoma
Community College. The ADN (RN) program of study is designed for qualified Licensed
Practical Nurses and consists of 2 semesters (30 semester hours) of general education
courses and one summer term followed by 2 semesters of nursing courses. Students
are provided clinical experiences that build on previously acquired skills and include
direct patient care, virtual learning methods and clinical simulations using computerized
patient care mannequins.
The ADN program:
- awards an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing to its graduates.
- continually concentrates on providing an educational program that is highest in quality
and responsive to the needs of the community.
- is small enough to know each student as a unique individual.
- provides classroom and clinical learning activities that are designed to engage the
student as an active participant in their own learning process.
- prepares the graduate for successful completion of the NCLEX-RN® and practice as an
entry level Registered Nurse.
The Associate Degree Nursing Program is student friendly and future-oriented. Students
partner with qualified, committed faculty who strive to continually provide the most
current information, trends, and requirements that promote a healthy transition in
practice for a successful career as a Registered Nurse.
Sincerely,
Lorean Willingham, MSN, RN
Director, Associate Degree Nursing Program
